Electronics assembly: the reel, the board, and the lot

Circuit boards moving through assembly

An electronics lot can ship boards whose component reels are on a feeder list that was never tied to the finished lot. A reel change in the middle of the run is invisible after the line moves on.

The question arrives when a component lot needs a list of boards.

What the open lot has to show

That is the same kind of gap as seeing the work while it is still open and quoting from a current cost.

The week the record is late

A component notice asks which assemblies used a date code. The pick list was right at the start of the shift. The reel was swapped at lunch. The swap is a memory.

Write the reel on the lot while the line is still running. MFGMAX Pharma holds that record. Accounting can stay where it is. Other systems can connect. What moves, and when, is shown before you commit. This does not replace your quality system, a validation, or an FDA approval.

Mark the week on Problems and Solutions, or read how integrations stay with the platform instead of replacing it.

Questions

What should stay on the open lot?

Reels and lots issued to the board lot. A reel change recorded on the open lot. Good boards and scrap before the lot is packed.

When should the lot be compared with the quote?

While it is still open. A count after invoicing explains a loss. It does not give the material or the hours back.

What does MFGMAX connect this to?

Write the reel on the lot while the line is still running. This does not replace your quality system, a validation, or an FDA approval.
